About Me

My name is Laura. I have a huge passion and love for animals, from horses to hamsters and all in-between. For years I have dreamt about owning my own business and working with animals.

I have had animals all of my life and if I am honest, if I could live in a world which just had animals in it…I would! I own a small jack Russell, Bonnie. She is my absolute world, she’s a very little dog with a big attitude but is 12 now so just wants an easy life and a comfy bed in front of the fire. We have a big, independent tabby cat, yayger. He only thinks of his stomach and he treats us pretty much like servants. I also have a long history with horses. I completed all my NVQs in horse care and management and worked full time on a livery yard for many years. I decided one day to buy my own horse and keep horses as a hobby rather than a career, so I brought Sebastian! He was a very handsome dark bay thoroughbred cross. He was just under 1 year old when I got him. He was the most mischievous horse, he made me laugh, made me cry, stressed me out and almost made me bankrupt, but I wouldn’t have had it any other way. Unfortunately, his curious character got him into some trouble when he was 3 years old, he broke my heart and after a week in hospital, we had no choice but to put him to sleep. Horses are still one of my favourite animals. Then there is my human family, I have an almost 2-year-old boy, Joshua. He loves our animals and is a proper little boy, and last but not least, my husband, Brent…. Who has accepted over the years that he is at the bottom of the hierarchy.

I have my NVQ 1 & 2 in Horse Care and management and I am currently undertaking a Pet Fist Aid course and my Level 2 Diploma in Animal care to ensure you and your pets get the best service from me.

We live in Halesowen (Hayley Green) at the foot of Clent Hills on a very quiet road. We are converting our large utility room into overnight accommodation for small animals. The room has natural light from a large window, it is cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Your animals will be treated like my own and a camera in the room means they are always watched over. I will be investing in a few cages and outdoor hutches, however, we also have room for you to bring your pets own enclosures. I will send you regular photo updates and let you know how your pet is as often you would like. We also have a large, enclosed, rear garden with a lot of grass for any outdoor hutch requirements.

I will be offering home visits for any animals, small animal overnight accommodation, dog walking and much more. I am happy to assist with basic horse care but please call to discuss this. If a service you need isn’t mentioned, please do not hesitate to ask.
